Teal Done Right: Emma & Tom’s Crewe Hall Wedding

Emma and Tom got married at Crewe Hall with one colour leading the whole thing — teal.

Not a background colour. Not a subtle detail.
The main focus.

Which could have gone very one-note.
But it didn’t.

Making Teal Actually Work

Teal can be tricky. Too much of it and everything blends into one.

So instead of matching everything to teal, we built around it.

Soft pinks and corals lifted the palette. Whites kept it fresh. Dark foliage added contrast so nothing felt flat.

The teal stayed strong — just not overwhelming.

That’s the difference between using a colour… and designing with it.

Alternative Without Feeling Themed

There was a slightly gothic edge running through parts of the styling — candelabras, darker details, a bit more mood.

The flowers needed to sit alongside that without turning into a “theme”.

So we kept the shapes clean. Let the colour do the talking. Balanced softness with structure so it still felt modern rather than heavy.

Different? Yes.
Overdone? Not at all.

Cohesion Across The Wedding Party

Teal dresses. Navy suits. Grey for the groom.

There’s a lot going on there already.

The flowers had to tie it together — not compete with it.

From Emma’s bridal posy through to Tom’s buttonhole and the full wedding party florals, everything pulled from the same palette so it felt connected from start to finish.

A Grateful Review From The Happy Couple

Emma and Tom were kind enough to share these words about their wedding florals — which genuinely means the world. Here’s what they had to say:

“We first met Leanne at a wedding fayre in Trentham months prior to booking our venue and she was a genuinely lovely person who seemed to love what she does. My husband even said at the time "I thought they were real"! We decided to get back in touch with Leanne to book after sorting the venue and date. We were really unsure about what we wanted for wedding flowers, but Leanne made some really helpful suggestions about what would match our wedding colours. And in the end, she created some truly amazing bouquets which looked stunning (and real!) on the day. I'm so pleased I can keep my wedding bouquet forever. Thank you!”
