Do You Really Need Wedding Flowers Everywhere?

If you’ve spent more than five minutes on Pinterest while planning your wedding, you’ll have noticed something.

Flowers. Everywhere.

  • Flower arches.

  • Flower walls.

  • Flower staircases.

  • Flowers on every chair, table and surface.

And while that can look beautiful, it’s not the only way to do wedding florals.

In fact, many of my couples choose something much simpler.

Flowers Should Be Intentional

Good floral design isn’t about filling space.

It’s about placing flowers where they actually matter.

The moments people remember most are usually the personal ones:

The bouquet.

The buttonholes.

The personal flowers for your loved ones.

Those are the details that appear in almost every photo of the day.

Personal Flowers Often Have The Biggest Impact

Bouquets, buttonholes, flower crowns and corsages carry the most meaning.

They’re worn, held, and remembered.

And because they’re personal pieces, they can be designed with more attention to detail.

Colour balance.

Texture.

Shape.

Nothing accidental.

Not Every Wedding Needs Full Venue Styling

You don’t always need full venue styling. There, I said it! Some venues already speak for themselves.

Historic barns.

Gardens.

Beautiful architecture.

Adding flowers everywhere can sometimes compete with the space rather than enhance it.

Strategic placement often works better than volume.

Smaller Weddings Often Choose Personal Florals

My personal favourite weddings? Elopements, destination weddings and intimate celebrations! These weddings often focus on personal flowers rather than large installations.

That allows couples to invest in a beautiful bouquet or meaningful pieces without worrying about filling a whole venue with arrangements.

Less quantity.

More intention.

Your Wedding, Your Rules

There’s no right or wrong way to approach wedding flowers.

Some couples want dramatic installations and statement pieces.

Others want a beautiful bouquet, a few personal details, and that’s it.

Both are valid.

What matters is that your flowers feel right for your day.

If you’re planning a wedding and not sure how many flowers you actually need, that’s a conversation we can have.
