Jewel Tones & A Little Wildness: Hannah & Jonathan's Wedding At Gawsworth Hall

Hannah and Jonathan got married on 29th May 2026 at Gawsworth Hall in Macclesfield, surrounded by family, friends and plenty of colour.

And their flowers? Definitely not shy.

We went for rich jewel tones, natural textures and a slightly wild finish. Deep pinks, burgundies, purples and blues, with little pops of yellow and white to break everything up.

The result was colourful, full of personality and perfectly suited to their relaxed wedding day.

Colourful, But Not Chaotic

Hannah and Jonathan weren't completely sure what they wanted when we first started discussing their flowers.

They knew they liked colour, but finding the right combination was something we worked through together.

We eventually settled on a jewel-toned palette. Rich fuchsia pinks, deep purples, burgundy and lighter blues, all balanced with greenery and touches of ivory.

Looking at the finished bouquets, you can see how those colours work together.

The darker flowers add depth. The blues and purples soften the contrast. And those little flashes of yellow stop everything feeling too serious.

Bold? Absolutely. But every colour has its place.

Flowers With A Little More Meaning

Among all those bold colours was something much quieter. Forget-me-nots.

Hannah and Jonathan chose to include them as a tribute to Jonathan's grandmother, bringing a meaningful detail into their wedding flowers without making it the centre of attention.

I love details like this. They're not always the first thing somebody notices when looking at a bouquet, but to the couple carrying those flowers, they mean so much more.

And that's exactly why I think wedding flowers should reflect the people they're being created for.

Bringing Everything Together

Alongside Hannah's bridal bouquet, I created two bridesmaids' posies, flower girl wands, buttonholes, floral hair accessories, flower pendants and log-and-jar arrangements for the venue.

With that many individual designs, everything needed to feel connected without looking identical. The same colours and textures ran throughout, adapted to suit each piece.

The bridesmaids' deep green dresses made those jewel tones stand out beautifully, while Jonathan's grey suit and purple patterned tie worked perfectly with his colourful buttonhole.

Seeing everything together in the photographs at Gawsworth Hall was brilliant. Rich colour, natural movement and plenty of personality. Exactly what we'd set out to create.

A Grateful Review From The Happy Couple

Hannah and Jonathan were such a lovely couple to work with, and I really enjoyed helping them turn their initial ideas into something that felt right for their day.

Hannah later left this Google review, which was such a lovely thing to receive:

“Leanne was amazing and made all the flowers for my wedding, especially as we were not confident in what she wanted. What she produced was outstanding and everyone was shocked to hear they were not real flowers. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.””
